The cultural secretariat held an evening of readings and music at the club, built around the sung poetry tradition.
The programme paired readings with oud performance, and closed with a discussion on how the tradition passes to a generation growing up outside Sudan.
The secretariat intends to record future evenings and publish them, subject to the approvals required for the club's publications.
